Arithmer Inc. will participate in the International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) 2019. ICIAM is a congress that gathers front line technologies for collaborative research projects. During the symposium Arithmer engineers including General Managers of R&D Headquarters Daisuke Sato, Kohei Yasuda, General Manager of ArithmerDia Div. Masaaki Uesaka, General Manager of ArithmerDB Div. Chikashi Arita and General Manager of ArithmerR3 Div. Hiroki Yato will give lectures and participate in the poster session. Knowledgeable experts in science, engineering and industry will perform a cross-sectional study for applying AI technologies in these areas. We hope to be a part of in-depth dialogues for AI solutions during the symposium.

Speaker | Daisuke Sato, Arithmer Inc., General Manager, R&D Headquarters, Ph.D.
After earning a Ph.D. at Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University, Daisuke Sato worked on studies of theoretical physics at Institut de Physique Théorique in Saclay (France), Brookhaven National Laboratory (USA), and Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany). Daisuke Sato was also awarded a Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan. Discovering the possibilities of mathematics in AI and the direct impact it can have towards the society, he joined Arithmer in 2018. Daisuke Sato leads the image recognition and robotics (ArithmerRobo) project teams.

Masaaki Uesaka, Arithmer Inc., General Manager, ArithmerDia Division, Ph.D.
After earning a Ph.D. at Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences, The University of Tokyo Masaaki Ueasaka studied applied mathematics research projects including inverse problem, mathematical modelling and optimization problem at The University of Tokyo and Research Institute for Electronic Science, Hokkaido University. Having a strong interest in finding social problems’ solutions using AI and AI-based mathematical models, Masaaki joined Arithmer in 2019. In addition, he is the Project Associate Professor at Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences, The University of Tokyo.

Kohei Yasuda, Arithmer Inc., General Manager, R&D Headquarters
Kohei Yasuda completed the Master course of Complexity Science and Engineering at the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo. He initially worked as an engineer at SoftBank Group Corp. yet joined Arithmer in 2017 when he recognized the unlimited possibilities of AI. Kohei Yasuda leads projects related to Dynamic Image Analysis (ArithmerDia).
Chikashi Arita, Arithmer Inc., General Manager, ArithmerDB Division, Ph.D.
After earning a Ph.D. at The University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Science, Chikashi Arita worked for research and education at Kyushu University, Saclay Nuclear Research Centre (France) and Saarland University (Germany). He was also awarded a Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan. He entered Arithmer in 2018 with the desire to directly contribute to society through his work.
Hiroki Yato, Arithmer Inc., General Manager, ArithmerR3 Division, Ph.D.
After earning a Ph.D. at Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University, Hiroki Yato worked on research development at a fluid dynamics company. In 2018 he joined Arithmer to work towards social contribution applying AI technologies.
